Emily Blunt reveals kissing some of her Hollywood co

She's kissed many a heartthrob in her box office hits including Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon and most recently Ryan Gosling.

But Emily Blunt has revealed she wanted to be sick after smooching some of her co-stars.

Asked whether she ever 'wanted to throw up' after kissing an actor, the actress replied: 'Absolutely, absolutely...I wouldn't say it's extreme loathing, but I've definitely not enjoyed some of it.'

Ms Blunt, 41, said that she has developed techniques for kissing co-stars she's not attracted to and is well-versed in creating 'chemistry'.

She told American radio host Howard Stern: 'I think my feeling is I've got to find something I love about everybody. I have to find something – even if it's one thing. It might be like they have a nice laugh or I like how they speak to people, they're polite. I mean, it might be something random.

'But find something you love about that person or something you love about them as the character and then kind of lean into that.'

The Oscar-nominee, who is married to US actor John Krasinski, added: 'I have had chemistry with people; I have not had a good time working with them...

'Chemistry is this strange thing. It's an ethereal thing that you can't really bottle up and buy or sell. It's there or it's not. And you can manufacture it.

'I've been doing this long enough. I could have chemistry with this water bottle at this point. You know how to conjure it. But it's just easier when you have a natural rapport with someone.'

But Ms Blunt reassured listeners that her connection with Gosling, who plays her love interest in new action movie The Fall Guy, was genuine.

She added: 'I love his wife, Eva. I love their children, and I feel like I'm very lucky to be friends with a gem of a person like him.'

Emily previously said she was determined she not to strip for salacious sex scenes.

Explaining: ‘What I loved about [slow burning romance with Ewan McGregor in 2011's Salmon Fishing In The Yemen] was that it felt like it was from a different era. So many films these days have people ripping clothes off each other'.

‘The film had decorum. It was a slow-burning romance. The main draw for me was the dynamic between the two characters,’ 

Meanwhile Emily's new film The Fall Guy gotten off to a rather underwhelming start, coming in under even the most modest of projections.

The movie, which she stars in alongside Ryan Gosling was projected to open between $30 million and $40 million, rather soft for the first weekend of the summer movie season.

The Sunday estimates are in, with The Fall Guy debuting with an even softer $28.5 million, via Deadline, easily dethroning last weekend's winner Challengers.

Disney's re-release of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace came in second place with just over $8 million. 

The film has been a hit with critics, with a strong 83% rating from 253 reviews from the Rotten Tomatoes critics, plus an A- Cinemascore rating and 90% positive in PostTrak post-screening interviews.

Still, those strong reviews and audience ratings didn't lead to a strong debut, far below last May's first weekend where Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 debuted with $118.4 million.

The overall box office for the weekend has come in with an estimated $72.9 million, a sharp 55% drop over the same frame in 2023 ($156 million).

The Fall Guy opened in 4,002 theaters, for a decent $7,121 per-screen average for the movie budgeted at $130 million. 

Despite the David Leitch-directed film's slow start, Jim Orr, distribution chief for Universal, believes things line up well for "The Fall Guy" in the coming weeks.

'We had a very solid opening. We´re looking forward to a very long, very robust, very successful run throughout the domestic box office for literally weeks if not months to come,' Orr said in a statement to AP.

But the modest start for The Fall Guy hints at larger concerns for the film industry. 

The Fall Guy seemed to check all the boxes of a summer blockbuster, with extravagant action sequences, one of the hottest stars in the business, a director with a track-record for crowd pleasers and very good reviews.

But instead, the opening for The Fall Guy, loosely based on the 1980s TV series, only emphasized that the movie business is likely to struggle to rekindle the fervor of last year´s "Barbenheimer" summer. 

The Fall Guy stars one from each: Gosling, in his first post-Ken role, and Emily Blunt, of Oppenheimer, both coming off Oscar nominations for those roles.
